Switching Up From Summer to Fall Bedding

Switching Up From Summer to Fall Bedding

Tired of your old sheets? Too cold at night, despite all your blankets? As the seasons change, now is a perfect time to start thinking about changing up the decor in your house, including your bedding!

Check out our guide for our tips on how to transition from summer to fall bedding to keep you comfortable all night long.

Switch Your Duvet Insert

Step number one: change your duvet insert! If you live in an area with cooler fall climates and warm summers, you'll want to have a thicker duvet for the colder months, and a thinner one for summer.

Adding a thicker duvet insert can keep you warm and comfortable through the crisp autumn nights. Look around for different thicknesses and materials to see what keeps you the most comfortable, and don't be afraid to switch things up as the seasons change.

You may also consider getting a different duvet cover to complement the fall fashions you'll have in your room! Consider how you want to layer the different elements of your bedding for maximum style and comfort.

Prefer a comforter? Comforters come in different thicknesses and styles as well based on where you're ordering them from. You might enjoy our washable wool comforter for a warm and cozy night's sleep, without the hassle of choosing a duvet cover.

Made From 100 Percent Comfort

When it comes to bedding, not all fabrics are the same! Linen sheets are excellent for keeping you cool during the summer. Cotton is great year-round for its light airiness, but not as great as linen for its antimicrobial properties. Silk is a luxurious but expensive material that is cool to the touch, but less breathable.

Bamboo is a highly renewable resource, and it makes for some light and breathable sheets as well. We have a set of bamboo sheets if you're looking to try something new this fall! It's great for the planet, and surprisingly comfortable for your bedsheets.

Play around with the textures and fabrics of your sheets, bedspread, pillowcases, and more to see what's right for you!

Crisp Clean Sheets

Whichever materials you choose for your bedsheets, climbing into some fresh, clean, new sheets is always a great way to enjoy the comforts of your home, in any season. Not only is this great for self-care, but it will also help your sheets to last longer if you are taking good care of them.

Having a new set of sheets for each season can keep your bedding fresh and interesting, and give you something to look forward to when you're done rearranging your bedroom and ready to tuck in for a good night's sleep.

Try choosing fabrics that go well with the season, or colors that complement your other decor. You might even want to layer another sheet above your first layer of blankets for added warmth!

Add Blankets

Fall means pumpkin spice lattes, gorgeous leaves, and cooler weather are on the way. It also means that throw blankets are a totally okay fashion accessory to wear all around the house.

Add some decorative and cozy blankets to your bedding! Besides being warm and comfortable, you can use blankets as accent colors to help you bring the design of your room together.

Another aspect to fall fashion is adding layers. You can do the same for your bed as you do for your wardrobe! Try layering your sheets, comforters, blankets, and coverlets and adding extra layers in especially cool climates.

Bedding and Room Decor

Speaking of style, you might consider changing up your bedding to create a new fall look for your bedroom. Warm and natural tones such as warm grey, oatmeal, cream, and warm, chocolatey browns can make a great base for your sheets and pillowcases.

Jewel tones and rich, deep colors also work well with your fall decor. Reds such as burgundy or garnet, blues such as deep indigo or navy, and other fall colors would work well as quilts or other accents for your bedding.

Other accent furniture and accessories such as baskets, wall decorations, lamps, or candles can help you tie the room together with a cozy yet sophisticated look. Warm metals such as gold and brass are perfect for the fall season and go well in any space.

Play with the colors of all the different elements, sticking to neutral tones when in doubt, and you'll have a cozy fall-inspired bedroom in no time!

Throw Pillows Into The Mix

Throw pillows can make or break your design choices in any room. Too many pillows, and there's no room for your guests to sit. Not enough, and your couches and beds look sparse and empty. And the colors need to match your other decor, of course.

Adding the right amount of decorative throw pillows can make your bedroom look comfortable and inviting, and give you the style you're looking for in your space. But what about your regular pillows?

Pillows are one of the most important factors in how comfortable you are when you sleep. If your pillow is too hard, too soft, or too hot, you might find yourself tossing and turning all night.

Luckily, we have our Easy Breather pillow to the rescue! It has an adjustable fill to meet your needs, and it will keep you cool and comfortable through the night.

Fall Into the Perfect Fall Bed

With the new season approaching, make sure your bedding is ready for fall by adding layers, changing up the fabric, and adjusting the colors and decor of your bedroom with blankets and throw pillows. We hope this helps you 'fall' in love with your new bed!
