Nest Bedding Named a Top 100 Sustainable Company for 2026

Nest Bedding has been named to The Sustainability Awards’ 2026 Top 100 Sustainable Companies list for repairability, made-to-order production, and product longevity.

Nest Bedding has been named one of the Top 100 Sustainable Companies in The Sustainability Awards 2026. The list is presented alphabetically, and it recognizes organizations of different sizes and sectors that are making credible, practical progress.

We are grateful for the recognition, especially because the award profile focused on something that has shaped how we think about sleep products for years: a mattress or pillow should not become waste simply because one component needs attention.

What The Sustainability Awards recognized

The Sustainability Awards describes the 2026 Top 100 Sustainable Companies Award as a recognition of credible improvement, accountability, and sustained ambition. In its profile of Nest Bedding, the organization highlighted two areas in particular: repairability and made-to-order production.

That distinction matters. Sustainability in the mattress industry is often discussed only in terms of what a product is made from. Materials and certifications are important, but they are not the whole picture. Product lifespan, serviceability, production choices, and what happens when comfort needs change also belong in the conversation.

Repair the part, not the whole bed

Several qualifying Nest Bedding mattresses use zippered designs with replaceable comfort layers. For eligible Sparrow, Owl, and Starling mattresses purchased with the program, the Lifetime Renewal Exchange can refresh the feel while keeping the existing support core and other usable components in service.

The same principle appears in our pillows. The adjustable Easy Breather Pillow can be opened so sleepers can change the loft, and replacement fill and service components are available for compatible models. The goal is not to make every product permanent. It is to make maintenance and targeted renewal more realistic before full replacement becomes necessary.

Made-to-order is another form of waste prevention

The award profile also recognized Nest Bedding’s made-to-order approach. Many of our mattresses are assembled after an order is placed at our U.S. factory using domestic and imported components. Producing around real demand can help reduce the excess inventory that comes from making more products than customers need.

Made-to-order production requires a different kind of discipline. Customers may wait while their mattress is built, and production teams must coordinate materials, scheduling, and quality around actual orders. We believe that tradeoff is worth making when it supports thoughtful production and helps avoid unnecessary finished-goods waste.

A recognition, not a finish line

No mattress, pillow, or bedding product has zero environmental impact. Certifications also have defined scopes: a certification may apply to a particular foam, textile, or component rather than an entire finished product or company. That is why our Sustainability, Purity & Certifications page identifies where specific materials, programs, and standards apply.

Being included in the 2026 Top 100 is meaningful because the award recognized practical decisions that customers can see and use. A replaceable layer is tangible. A refillable pillow is tangible. A product made in response to an order is tangible. These are not claims that the work is complete; they are choices that move the business in a more responsible direction.

What this means for shoppers

An award emblem can help signal that a company’s work has been noticed, but it should not replace careful shopping. Before buying, look at the specific product’s construction, materials, applicable certifications, care instructions, trial terms, warranty, and renewal options. Ask whether the product can adapt if your comfort needs change and whether a worn or unsuitable component can be serviced without replacing everything.

Those questions are useful whether you shop with Nest Bedding or anyone else. Better products are not only comfortable on the first night. They are designed with the years that follow in mind.

We appreciate The Sustainability Awards for including Nest Bedding in its 2026 Top 100 Sustainable Companies list, and we are thankful to the customers, craftspeople, suppliers, and service teams who make this work possible. Recognition is worth celebrating. The more important task is continuing to earn it.
