Do You Need A New Mattress? A Checklist.
Having stayed at a friend's house recently and waking up with a very sore back on their guest bed, I think it is quite obvious that their guest room mattress is not the best mattress for me. At home I have a soft yet supportive Natural Silk Elegance memory foam mattress from Bed In A Box. I wake up refreshed and ready to face the day.
If you are not waking up refreshed and ready to start a new day energized and pain-free, perhaps you need a new mattress. Here is a checklist to see if you are in need of changing out your current mattress for a new, more supportive mattress:
- Are you waking up with pain?
- Is there a visible dip in your memory foam mattress or spring mattress?
- Are your covers on the ground in the morning?
- Waking up feeling like you didn't sleep at all?
- Feeling your partner moving in your bed?
Keep in mind that most major brand mattresses are designed to fail not long after you buy them, around 2-4 years. That is because they use low quality and low cost materials to maximize profits. It also ensures you are back in the store buying a new mattress in just a few short years.
Why is it bad to continue to sleep on a mattress that is breaking down? When your mattress starts to develop a significant and noticeable body impression, it forces your back out of proper alignment, leading to back pain and interrupted sleep. Some folks will add a memory foam topper, but all that will do is make the mattress softer, not fill in the indentation.
If any of the above issues are issues you are dealing with, it is time to consider a new mattress. Your friends at Nest Bedding can help you choose a great new mattress from our lineup of organic mattresses or non-toxic memory foam mattress, all which are long lasting and a great value.
