Latest News About Essentia Mattress from the Federal Trade Commission

Jul 25, 2013

Essentia Natural Memory Foam Company, IncThe FTC alleges that Essentia made unsubstantiated claims that its mattresses do not contain VOCs, are chemical-free, have no chemical off-gassing or odor, and are made from 100 percent natural materials.  Moreover, the complaint alleges that Essentia claimed that tests show that its memory foam is free of VOCs and formaldehyde when, in fact, tests do not support these claims.

If you are in the market for a mattress made from natural materials, please come by and see the mattresses at Nest Bedding. We don't have to use wild and unsubstantiated claims to sell our mattresses.

Here is the link to the FTC report

Basically, Essentia made claims that their mattresses were free from VOC's and that their foam was made with no chemicals, which was found to be completely untrue.

This is being hailed as a major victory for those of us who have known for years that you cannot make memory foam from all natural materials and that they were misleading the public.
