Sleep and Exercise: Timing is Everything
Getting comfortable and cool in bed is important to the onset of sleep and the ability to stay in a deep sleep. And while rest is an important pillar in the foundation of good health, diet and exercise are as well. And the proper timing of when you eat and when you exercise can greatly affect getting that proper rest.
Nest Bedding is committed to providing a proper sleep environment, such as cool, breathable sheets, comforters made of wool and cotton as opposed to down and feathers, and mattress made from breathable, non-toxic memory foam and all natural organic mattresses. But the sleep environment is only one part of the important sleep equation.
For example, eating a big meal before bedtime can disrupt the body's ability to digest properly. And the timing of your exercise can also disrupt sleep. It can take up to 6 hours for the body to completely cool down.
The best time to exercise is in the morning, but if you have to exercise in the evening, give yourself as much time as possible before bedtime. The same with your evening meal. Try to avoid eating right before bed to give your body the best chance to get deep, restorative rest. And that goes for the midnight snack as well!
